The annual senior co-ed soccer tournament was held on Friday, October 5th at Newburgh Public School with Newburgh P.S, Centerville P.S, Tamworth P.S, and Enterprise P.S participating.

All teams played very well in the day long tournament. However, Newburgh came out on top after going undefeated in round-robin play and beating Tamworth in the finals by a score of 5-1.

“We played as a team and won as a team,” commented Roan McDonald-Reynolds, a rookie grade six student on the Newburgh senior team.

A big thanks goes out to all of the people who helped make this year’s tournament a huge success. Thank you to all of the coaches and student players for coming out and participating. Thank you to the students and parents who ran the canteen and helped with refereeing. And a huge thank you to the families who came out to cheer on the teams.

And an even bigger shout out to Newburgh who hosted this awesome event! Hopefully when the junior tournament rolls around in the spring Newburgh will repeat this success!
