June is a month with so much to celebrate, and we are happy to have witnessed the wonderful growth that has been demonstrated collectively and collaboratively as a learning community.Our Grade 3 and Grade 6 students completed their participation in the provincial EQAO assessments and we are thrilled with their efforts and hard work. Our annual Newburgh Fun Fair is this Friday. This fun evening is thanks to our hard working SAC members who are committed to improving Newburgh school through funds generated by this fun event. See the flyer below for more information.Students who qualified for Regionals during our Track and Field Meet are off to Invista Centre this coming Tuesday. We wish all our Newburgh athletes the very best. This week is AccessAbility Week where our school community comes together to recognize and celebrate the many ways people learn, move, communicate, and experience the world around them. AccessAbility Week is an opportunity to build awareness, empathy, and understanding, while continuing to create a school where everyone feels valued, included, and supported. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by talking about kindness, respect, and the importance of creating spaces where everyone can succeed.June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. It's a time to honour the stories, achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact the evolving Canada. June also is the month the world celebrates Pride Month, honouring global 2SLGBTQ+ accomplishments and recognizing the social justice work that still needs to be done. The instructional day will run from 9:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include three 100-minute learning blocks, supported by two 40-minute nutrition and outdoor breaks. Morning supervision will begin at 8:55 a.m. This change is designed to support deeper learning, improved student engagement, and a more balanced daily routine for all students. <h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;">Important Reminders</h2><img src="/images/bbdb0772-9929-470f-8967-7e7bd396c0f7?fingerprint=ppb20260514031141" alt="reminder image" width="127" height="131" style="width:127px;height:131px;display:inline-block;float:right"><h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Personal Toys</h2>Thank you for monitoring personal toys, such as stuffed animals, squishy toys, Pokémon and hockey cards, coming into the school as these items cause disruption to our learning. While we understand how comforting or exciting these items can be, they are easily lost or misplaced or damaged during the busy school day. We want to avoid upset students, missing belongings and disruption to our learning; we ask that these items continue to stay at home. <h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Drop Off and Pick Up</h2>In the event that you need to drop off or pick up your child(ren) early during the school day, please buzz at the front office doors and stop by the office to sign your child(ren) in or out using the student drop-off/pick-up list. Ms. Clement will retrieve your child(ren) from their classroom(s). If you have a message for the teaching staff, please use your child’s agenda or leave a message with the office. This helps ensure continuity of learning in every classroom. The instructional day will run from 9:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include three 100-minute learning blocks, supported by two 40-minute nutrition and outdoor breaks. We want to avoid upset students, missing belongings and disruption to our learning; we ask that these items continue to stay at home. <h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Drop Off and Pick Up</h2>In the event that you need to drop off or pick up your child(ren) early during the school day, please buzz at the front office doors and stop by the office to sign your child(ren) in or out using the student drop-off/pick-up list. This helps ensure continuity of learning in every classroom.
